This past week has been great! Full of oppostion though. We have been having quite a few problems from nasty colds to kidney stones to dissapearing investigators. Needless to say, it has been rough. We have been able to make quite a bit of progress though. Right now we have 4 people marked to be baptized this month. They are all early in the teaching process though, so we will have to see what happens. They are all starting to develope great testimonies though! One of them is João (21 years old). He is amazing! He and his mom live in the most humble condtions, have no money and no food, yet are always so happy and positive and spend every day walking around the streets looking for work and cheering everyone up as they go. João has a great testimony of the gospel already and has grown so much since he started being taught. Yesterday he came to church for the first time ever. While sitting next to me, he kept nodding his head and smiling because of the testimonies being shared. Towards the end of the meeting he tought me and asked if he could go up and speak. I told him of course! and so he went, a little bit nervous, but determined to share what he new was true. He ended up bearing the most powerful testimony of the meeting and spoke about how he came to meet the elders, why he was studying with us, and how he now knows that this church is true. He also spoke about how grateful he is to be doing this. It was amazing! He has problems with smoking, but has a huge desire to stop and is %100 determined to being baptized this month. Like I said… He is amazing. The miracles that the gospel makes in peoples lives is incredible. Seeing the joy and hope that it brings to these people makes all of the trials so worth it. I really am so grateful to be a missionary!
I am happy to hear that all is going well at home. I hope it continues to. Love you all so much. Have a great week!
