Hey Hey!

How is everyone doing? Hope you all had a fantastic week! This week was pretty good for us! We found some pretty solid new investators who are already progressing really well! The first is a woman named Isabel. She has been having quite a few problems throughout her whole life which as lead her to the conclusion that God does not love her. She really wants to get to know him better though. After teaching her about the restoration of the gospel, she was all smiles! Full of hope for a better future! She came to church yesterday and really enjoyed it. She already has plans on coming back next week! The other is a young lady named Jersalinha or something like that… I don’t really remembre. All I know is that she is from São Tomé and she goes by Jessy becuase her name is too long. She is incredible though! She came to Portugal because of her baby daughter who is having medical complications and needed urgente care which she couldn’t get back home. She was planning on meeting up with a cousin who lived here, but the day before coming her cousing called and said she had to move to france for a while… This meant that Jessy had to come to Portugal with absolutely nothing. No money, no place to stay, no friends and no family. She decided to trust in God though, and make the trip to help her daughter! When she got her, she was completely lost. Then, a friend of a member found her in the airport, had compassion on her, and helped her out by taking her to the hospital and letting her move into her house. Talk about Christ-like! The member’s friend then introduced her to us! Now we are teaching here and she is loving it! She came to church and made some good friendships with the members! It is incredible. She really has been being prepared to receive the gospel! Other than this, not too much exciting happend this week. All in all, it was a good one! Hope all continues to go well back at home. Love you all!

Beijinhos,
Elder Mehl

Me with Sebastião! He is a fantastic member who helps us out a ton. I actually served a transfer with his son in Vila Real.

This is Santa Marta! It is basically a huge area full of little huts. There are no roads and no organization. Just lots of friendly Africans :)
